2012 Florida Model United Nations Staff

The 2012 FMUN Staff is as Follows.

Director of General Assembly Plenary: Sebastian Sarria

A native of Colombia, Sebastian is currently a senior at the University of Central Florida studying international and comparative politics. An ardent soccer fan, his favorite soccer teams are Fc Barcelona, and Orlando City. His research interests include global development, human rights, and the environment. Involved in Model UN since his freshmen year at Valencia Community College, now Valencia College, Sebastian enjoyed what MUN had to offer to its participants and since then, has continued his MUN interest at UCF. As a result, Sebastian is excited to continue his MUN experience with FMUN as its GA director.

Director of Security Council: Logan Buzzell

Logan Buzzell will serve as the Director of the United Nations Security Council for the sixth annual Florida Model United Nations Conference. Mr. Buzzell is beginning his fourth year as a History and International Studies major at the University of North Florida, as well as continuing his eighth year of Model UN. Over these many years, Logan has had the opportunity to see Model UN through the perspectives of a delegate, staff member, and vice president. He has also had first-hand experience with the UN; serving the UN World Food Program for the first half of this year in  Bangkok, Thailand. Although Logans work was primarily in development, he will bring the knowledge acquired in Bangkok to make this year's Security Council the most outstanding one yet.

Director of UNHCR: John Reyes

John Reyes is a senior at FSU studying International Affairs and Political Science with a concentration on geography. He has been involved with Model UN since 8th grade and has traveled to prestigious conferences throughout my MUN career, ranging from Harvard to UChicago and MCMUN in Montreal, Canada. John has had his fair share of first place finishes as well as seconds and thirds, but his prize is the knowledge he gains from participating and facilitating discussions that involve international issues. John’s most favorite MUN topic concerns refugees and he is more than excited to direct FMUN’s UNHCR this year! John looks forward to seeing all of you, and if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to let him know!

Crisis Director: Brittany Novy-Mackey

Originally from Willowbrook, IL, Brittany moved to Daytona Beach to attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where she double-majored in Aeronautical Science and Homeland Security. She has been a part of Model United Nations since 2009 and it has provided hey with numerous opportunities ranging from meeting friends to developing public speaking skills; and of course increasing that always important patience which was desperately needed. Brittany looks forward to serving this year's Crisis and bringing excitement, knowledge, and humor to this committee.
